Early morning climb of the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress – a 5th-century marvel with frescoes and panoramic views

Afternoon jeep safari in Minneriya National Park, famous for the “Gathering” of wild elephants (best from July to October)

Spot elephants, deer, peacocks, and possibly leopards and sloth bears

Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with Buddha statues and cave paintings

Stop at a spice garden in Matale to learn about traditional herbal practices

Proceed to Kandy, the sacred city of the Temple of the Tooth

Evening visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic and a Kandyan cultural dance performance

Depart early for Udawalawe (approx. 5 hrs drive)

Afternoon jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park – one of the best places in Asia to spot wild elephants

Visit the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, where orphaned baby elephants are rehabilitated and released into the wild

After breakfast, transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport (approx. 4–5 hrs)
